World War 2, & The French Resistance in Lot et Garonne

original?tenant=vbu-digital

The French Resistance Memorial just outside Miramont de Guyenne, maybe around 1 km from The Retreat @ Le Grand Bois, on the 11th hour, 11th day, of the 11th month. with it's cross of Lorraine; dedicated to Marcel Herve & Louis Fretillere, who died as a result of their attacking a German convoy on the old Route de Marmande, as it made it's way to Bergerac airport, three days after D-Day. I feel that they should be remembered, there we're no other flowers or poppies laid on Rememberance Day for the past three years.

It is my intention that we will post more about the French Resistance in Lot et Garonne, as there seems to have been quite a lot of activity locally, its not spoken of, so I need too dig deeper to discover more, as more & more of these brave verterans pass on, there are fewer to tell their stories.
